(Announcement) Invitation to Propose a Theme Issue

Qualified scholars including the members of the S/HE Journal Editorial Board are invited to propose a theme issue of S/HE: An International Journal of Goddess Studies.

Proposals should include a 200-word description of the theme of the issue, as well as a list of potential contributors, and an estimated timeline for completion. Guest Editors may also circulate a call for contributors.

Themes should fall within the mission of the journal: S/HE: An International Journal of Goddess Studies is an open-access, peer-reviewed international scholarly journal committed to the academic exploration, analysis and interpretation, from a range of disciplinary perspectives, of Goddesses and the Female Divine in all religions, traditions, and cultures, to be ancient, historical, or contemporary. The journal is also open to submissions compatible with Goddess Studies in areas such as Matriarchal Studies, Ecofeminist Thealogy, Motherhood Studies, and the like. The journal is a multi-disciplinary forum for the publication of feminist scholarship in Goddess Studies and for discussion, comparison, and dialogue among scholars of differing feminist perspectives.

Each issue should include 3-5 articles. Thematically appropriate original poetry and artwork (including cover image) are also welcome.

Submissions to the issue must follow S/HE Guidelines for Contributors (https://sheijgs.space/?page_id=155) , and are subject to double-blind peer review, as with regular issues. Referees may be from the Editorial Board (https://sheijgs.space/?page_id=17), or other qualified academics (PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the subject area).

The Editorial Board member who proposed the theme issue will serve as Guest Editor for the issue, and oversee the peer review process for the issue, with the advice of the Co-editors.

Final approval of the content of the theme issue rests with the Co-editors.

Theme issues may be published as regular or special issues, at the discretion of the Co-editors. In the event that a theme issue is not completed, any accepted articles will be published in a regular issue.

Submit your proposal to Dr. Helen Hwang (mago9books@gmail.com) or Dr. Franceca Tronetti (ftronetti@gmail.com).
